Greater Phill Gluten Free Expo - take 2

My number one sweet find at the expo was these Bake A Re Italian Butter Cookies.

Oh.My.Goodness.

The BEST cookies EVER! I am not kidding or lying. I still can not believe these are gluten free. They are identical to the gluten filled variety and I am in awe. Absolutely delicious. Worth every penny and I am very sad that there are only two left in my bag.

Greater Philly Gluten Free Expo - take 1

Soooo I don’t know if all the expos are run like this one but if they are... run, don’t walk to get to one.
It was incredible. Soooo many vendors, everyone was super friendly and helpful. There is no words to describe how amazing it was to be somewhere where you could eat everything, I mean EVERYTHING!!! There was even a food truck with gluten free funnel cake, corn dogs and fried Oreos. The only sad part... they sold out before we could get there.

Not surprising based on the crowd that was there. But everything moved well and again everyone was so nice so standing in lined left to many good conversations. As you can see it was quite the busy place. I love that they have table and chairs in the middle so you can enjoy the food you sample and/or buy.

And we did NOT go hungry. In fact, we definitely over ate but it was all soooo good. I mean truthfully, all good. The only less that amazing item was some pizza and bread at one of the booths. They still need some more work to get up to 2018 and compete with other pizza and bread I have had both outside the expo and inside it. But it was still better than 18 years ago when I started this journey.

I really want to write up as much as I can but no one will read a 10 page post. So this post will be my number one item I loved and will go and seek out to buy before all others. Mind you we had AMAZING bake goods but I have to stop eating so much sugar and treats. Soooo I will be on the look out for...

OH MY GOODNESS!!! Best bread in 18 years. From Ireland, medium hard outside and ohhhh sooo soft inside. Incredible flavor, even for the rustic white, which was my favorite (so much so that I asked for the last one on display and they gave it to me at the end of the day. We purchased the Seeds and Fruit and they gave us a free breakfast muffin pack. Promise Bread is heads and shoulders above sooo many bread I eat and have eaten. We even just ate the rest of the rustic white that was on display a week later and it was identical in taste and consistency as the week before when it was fresh. It does not fall apart and seriously it was the best tasting bread I have had in 18 years, maybe my life.

It is supposedly available at Shop Rite in our area but they requested that we ask other stores to carry them. You better believe I will be asking everywhere I shop to try them out and if that doesn’t work ... runs off the internet to locate the closest Shop Rite.

And if you read this and think, wow this was number one please note this was not that easy of a choice. There were so many amazing items but finding a good bread, that is slightly better for you than other, well that has been difficult lately. So I really will go find this before I go and find the baked good items... although there was another bread item that almost beat this out but that one you might not make sandwiches on, so I chose this one for it’s versatility.

If you were at the expo, let me know your number one item that you had there.

Be on the look out for more follow ups on this expo.

Greater Philly Gluten Free Expo

This Saturday May 19th in Oaks PA I will be attending the Gluten Free Expo.

I have been wanting to attend one of these expos for awhile now but always had conflicts with the dates and /or locations. So this year when we finally determined we would be around, I bought the tickets at Wegmans.

I am very excited to see all the amazing products that will be there and meet some awesome people. I am hopeful I will be able to meet with the owner of the blog Gluten Free Philly. He was one of the first blogs I followed and he has been extremely helpful in finding places to eat not only in Philly but when he posts about trips he has taken.

I plan to post a full review over on my gluten free blog, Gluten Free R U, but I will also cross post here just in case anyone is interested that doesn't follow that blog.

Is there anything you want me to look for while at this expo? If so, please let me know in the

Celentano Cheese Ravioli

I LOVE ravioli. LOVE it!

I did not love this ravioli unfortunately.

It was too thin, watery and no great cheese taste. It was missing something, a spice, a flavor, I am not sure but it just didn’t do it for me. It wasn’t a hearty meal at all.

I was most sad that it didn’t taste great because the cost is much lower for these than my favorite Conte’s. I followed the directions as stated but it just didn’t work for me.

If you have a favorite gluten free ravioli, please let me know so I can try it.

Schar Honeygrahams

Not quite Nabisco Graham Crackers which I ate ALL the time back when I ate gluten.

BUT these are very close in flavor, just quite different in texture and thickness. But I am ok with that especially since the flavor to me is the most important part. Plain or with peanut butter, these are fantastic.

There is very little of Schar’s products that I do not like... in fact I don’t know if there is anything I don’t like by them. I guess time will tell as I work my way back through everything to do blog posts :)

My second favorite part of these is the packaging. Six are individually packaged and that is perfect. Great to throw in my lunch bag or comic con bag for a snack.

I highly recommend these!!

Schar Entertainment Crackers

YES, YES, YES

These are by far the BEST gluten free crackers I have had.

Buttery, crunchy but a soft crunch, delicious, perfect.

Seriously, reminds me Ritz crackers but better to me because they are not as crunchy and messy.

Yummmmmmm

Local - Tabor Farms Gluten Free Items

Best.Coffee Cake.I’ve.Had.

YUM!

Crumbly, sweet, dense, delicious, just dry enough for coffe cake, just the right height, oh my goodness I am drooling as I type this. I drive out of my way to get this whenever I am craving it. Luckily this time I was driving right by. Worth every penny of $9.99.

Garbanzo Bread:

Dense, sweet and very tasty

Blueberry Muffin:

Tasty and lots of blueberries but way too crumbly. Couldn’t even put butter on it as it would just fall apart.

Orange Cranberry Muffin:

My favorite. The flavor is amazing and it is moist and not crumbly at all.
